Abstract |
This is an original publication of the West Virginia Museum of American Glass, Ltd. Drawing on WVMAG's extensive collections and those of our members, this book includes over 860 striking color images of unusual and beautiful black glass animals, bowls, baskets, candlesticks, compotes, flower bowls, novelties, stemware, tableware, and vases. The finest examples of late nineteenth through twentieth century glass from such renowned firms as Akro Agate, Blenko, Cambridge, Dalzell-Viking, Duncan & Miller, Fenton Art Glass, Fostoria, H. C. Fry, Hazel-Atlas, A. H. Heisey, Imperial, Lenox Crystal, Libbey, Morgantown Glass Works, Paden City, Seneca, L. E. Smith, Steuben, Tiffin/U. S. Glass, and Westmoreland Specialty, among many others, are well represented. Catalog copy and original advertisements from glass manufacturers and decorators supplement and add depth to the presentation, which includes brief company histories. 224 pages 860 colour.
